7 days ....

Happy Friday .... its been a busy couple of days and it just keeps on going.

1. Went to a much need lunch with a good friend at our favorite spot. We both are counting down to summer, so it was good to have a breather in the middle of the week.

2. Preparing. My husband helped me get my photography website up and started. Though I still need more of a portfolio, its a start and I'm grateful for his help. Make sure you take a look and see the shoot I did with Ryan, and follow too.

3. Ryan's graduation is June 3rd. Lets just say I'm the only parent in the class helping and I have a lot of decorations to make.

4. Summer BBQ's please come soon.

5. Design Team Projects (I'm so glad I am finished this month) its been a full month and I'm glad to check this off my list. It would be nice however to scrap just because soon, instead of looking at all these neat things in my room. lol.
6. Ahhhh ... my camera and classes have been glued to me since I got it. Which is good ... practice, practice, practice.

7. MOMMY getaway: My best friend was very nice enough to surprise me with a plane ticket to come see her in JUNE. < Lets just say I cannot wait. Michigan here I come.

Hope everyone has a much needed nice memorial weekend off. Be Back Soooooon !!!

It's my Life: My favorite thing about summer is watching my son play ALOT of baseball. It used to be looking forward to my summers off. I was a school employee but got cut last June. I just got recalled for next school year so my favorite thing (sounds silly) will be the end of summer so I can go back to work. I'm just getting into stamps and would love to have this collection.

One of my good friends works as a full time sub. She loves her job, but looking forward to a break. I know once it hits august she will be just as excited to go back as you. Enjoy your break and your new stamps.

What a Week ....

Its been a crazy week in half ..... sigh .... Put your hands up if you are ready for summer !!! This school year Ryan & I have gotten our fair share of sickness. YIKES. Last week our whole family shared a stomach bug and then we topped it off with a lovely cold after that. Finally I am back to my old self. Sorry I have been out of office (blog) for a bit. < ------- I don't think these next 2 weeks are going to be any better. LOTS of DT stuff to work on and also my son's pre-k graduation is coming up (of course I had to volunteer to decorate). lol.

Here's my man in his cap and gown .... we did a little shoot (Im practicing what can say). Lets just say he takes better direction when someone other than his MOM is taking his pics. But he did well. The balloons I created in CS4 are from Vol. 25. I told Ryan to act like he was holding balloons and look up .... he found that very fun, and then said "Mama, where the balloooons". lol.

Last weekend we had my in-laws come visit. We were sick, but I think that helped get it out of us. Lately with my photo classes I have been learning my settings and I decided to put it to the test and practice a bit. My Mother and Father in law have very few pics together, so I figured if they turned out decent they would have some. TO MY SURPRISE I might just have a knack for this thing after all. I cant wait to start up my own company, but all in practice and due time. Here's some of my favorite shots from the shoot.

I plan on doing more shoots , I need all the practice I can while I'm in class, so if your in the area let me know. My in-laws had a great time and loved the pics, so that makes me very happy. REAL QUICK ..... I wanted to congratulate my cousin James and his wife Nicole on there new addition, Little Conner. James and my other cousin Chris, were my buddies when I grew up, being an only child, I looked forward to seeing them every summer. We don't see each other much because they live in FL and I'm here, but we talk when we can. Congrats guys.

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great night/day.

Oh so Happy ....

Though I'm feeling a little under the weather (thank you Ryan) lol. This definitely perked up my day. I truly believe publication excitement will never get old. Here's my 2 boys on page 87 of the June 2011 issue of Scrapbook Trends.

Sorry its a little fuzzy (still haven't mastered the awesomeness of copying web pages). Hope everyone has a good day. Hoping to get creative later if I'm still feeling better. Can I just tell you. I'm really ready for summer. Ryan brings home every cootie imaginable. lol.

Pic Share

Hey All .... I hope all the Mom's had a wonderful Mother's Day and those of you with no kids and just fur-babies (you are mommies too). lol. This past weekend we went to my moms house for a quick visit. My dads birthday is this week so I wanted to be able to spend time with my mom and make my dad some cupcakes. I got this idea from Martha Stewart. I'm not a big baker or decorator of FOOD. So this is as crafty as I get. lol.

Ryan has been sick with a stomach bug all weekend. Despite the throwing up every couple of hours he still was so happy to be at his grandparents. We had a very nice mothers day weekend. < Now that Ryan has turned five, he has been so independent lately. It is nice to see that my baby still needs me from time to time.

As you can tell he was not feeling well at all ....

Before I go .... as you can tell I haven't put my new camera down yet. I have also been practicing lots with POST-PROCESSING. I have Adobe PS CS4 and its a in depth program to learn. I'm lucky to have practiced a couple years on elements, but I'm still learning something new everyday. Here's a before and after shot of my husband and I.

Keep in mind I'm not a professional and if you asked me what I did I probably couldn't tell you everything. One tip though Adobe Raw plug in ROCKS. It helps a lot to get your white balance right where it should be and its a great place to start first while your editing. Be back soon, once Ryan's sickies go away.

Mom Day Garden Bags

This Mother's Day I had NO CLUE what to get or make my Mom. She is a very picky woman. While browsing on 2Peas they had the Connect with Creativity Challenge for this Bag. You can see how to make it HERE. I thought to myself what I nifty idea !!!

Here's the idea on 2Peas. Cute right !?!

My mom lately has been gardening (its a new thing for her) so I thought I would help her out and make a Garden Bag. I did however make a similar ones for my MIL, but its stuffed with lots of Coffee Goodies.

This is a Hybrid Project. I used the Jen Martakis Blossom Digital Kit. The bags are from Hobby Lobby and they came in a four pack. I did the same thing as the challenge: created a document in PS and printed it on a Iron-On. Tags are digital papers from the kit.

Thank goodness for 2peas inspiration in times of NEED. What did you create for your special MOM ???

Appreciation Day !!!

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day !!!

Military Spouse Day was first celebrated in 1984 when then-President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the observance to honor the contributions of military spouses. The military now sets aside the Friday before Mother's Day each year to pay tribute to the spouses who play a vital role in the nation's defense.

I love this day because I'm able to share with my military friends who have endured the same things I have with a simple "Thank You for being there". I have met so many wonderful military wives along this 8 year journey of my husband being in the service. There will always be a special few that have touched my heart and even though we may all be far away from each other, I know we have a long lasting bond as friends.

I found this on MilitaryAvenue.com and couldn't think its more appropriate on a day like this.

Some of us are Army-strong, others of us are in the Air Force-blue, there are a few proud Marines, a wealth of Navy and the ever-vigilant Coast Guard.

We love our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coasties. Most of us don't wear the uniform but all of us swoon (deeper than a civilian can understand) when we see the uniform.

We keep the home-fire lit and our babies at bay. We manage the home-front with grace and ease mixed with a few fumbles and a bit of heartache. We may not be "issued" but we are chosen!

We depend on friends, mentors, networks and far away family to get us through the tough times.

We use strength to carry us. Distance to mold us. Tears to soften us. Laughter to brighten us. Perseverance to humble us.

To all the military-spouses I wish you a Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!

Click-Click goodies

As I was browsing on one of my favorite photography blog Laura Wislow, she did the cutest post on some camera goodies I had to share. Its amazing the things you find on ETSY. First Felt Cameras. So adorable. I love Laura's adorable photo she took with them too. You can get them at ThePinkPooka.

How cute is this rubber stamp from kawaiigoodies.

How about some PDF printable 3-D cameras from Mel Stringer. I have to admit I got these. lol.

What a neat idea. If this doesn't get a child's attention I don't know what will. Camera Pals by Knits by Roma and Camera Creatures.

Okay I will stop torching you with things you might have to go buy. lol. Before I go are you on PINTEREST?? It's become my new addiction. I love having a place to organize all these cute ideas I find (hopefully I make use of them and make those things). Here's my BOARD .... Start Pinning and I will follow you.

Have a great day !!!
