Royal Wedding love

"Top of the morning to ya"

Yes, I am one of those crazy Americans who have been up since 3:30am to watch the royal wedding. Try to bare with my babbling, I tend to get giddy when I'm very sleepy. He he. I have already gotten a “shake of the head” from the hubby, as he left for work. lol. Ryan shocked me when he came down stairs and loved the princess. He didnt want to go to school becuase he wanted to watch the horse and carriage. I'm glad my son doesnt think I'm crazy. lol.

I am a hopeless romantic, what can I say. It makes me think of the day I married my prince charming. Though it was not an extravagant wedding watched by millions; we were hopeless in love (still are) children who got married right away, out of high school. I wore a prom dress, he wore a rented suit from the mall, and we shared our first dance in my mom’s living room. lol. As I was digging frames out of boxes (yes, I'm still decorating the home) I found this pic in a frame. This was my wedding day. I love our expressions and we both still give each other those same smiles.

Of course I would not be posting this unless I found some great crafty goodies. Did or are you planning to have a royal viewing Party today? One of my friends is having a neighborhood tea party this morning with the neighborhood little girls (big hats requested). How cute. Here are some adorable ideas I came by for some adorable royal party ideas. A couple of these I found on Pinterest, you can find my Pin Board HERE.

All this lovely Pink Party-ness is from Celebrations at Home Blog. Just lovely.

"Cheerio" ... Enjoy your day.

Hop Hop Hoppity Hop

Hello All. I know its been a week since I blogged. Last weekend we had tornado's (yes, I said Tornado's) invade our area. I am so blessed our neighborhood was spared. We also took Ryan to his first air-show. Pics Soon. I swear I have been working on stuff. Here's a little sneak peek of what I can show you Monday, when the May Paper Posies Kit goes live. Very Spring !!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter. We are looking forward to this weekend. If Sundays weather keeps its promise we are looking at BBQ and pool side time. < Sorry we are not traditional. But we are doing an Egg and Basket hunt for Ryan. So I wasn't able to decorate this year for Easter since we have been re-decorating (pics soon) but next year I think I might do something. Well you know I love to decorate, I was browsing the Home Goods and HGTV blogs how cute is some of this Easter decor. LOVE IT.

I love this idea. Im thinking how cute this would be for Fourth of July !!!

Have a great weekend. See you next week !!!

Airplane Fever

Hello again. I showed a sneak peek of this layout about a week or two ago. I figured it was time to show you the rest. I used the Paper Posies April 2011 Kit. Loved using this kits, packed with echo park goodies. Ive had airplane fever since we have been re-doing my sons room. I also have been dying to print something neat on 12x12 paper with my new wide format printer. I found some neat airplane blue prints on yahoo images. I originally saved them to print out to hang up in Ryan's room and I wound up using one for a layout too. Here's the image I used:

How neat is that. Okay now here's the layout. I planned for this to be a 2 pager (just haven't gotten that far yet). lol. You know how that goes. I tend to scrapbook all over the place (like this is a 2010 layout and should be doing layouts for 2006). Oh well it will all get done SOMEDAY !!!

The cloud stamps are from Studio Calico. Also the punched circles with mini airplanes used are from the Smithsonian Map. The Banner/Pendant was also part of the Map. Amazing what you can use for a layout.

Hope you got some neat tips for your next boy layout. I have to say this is probably one of my husbands favorites so far. Go Figure. lol.

Layout Challenge

Good Morning All. I know 2 posts this week, WHOA. lol. So over at Paper Posies we started doing monthly challenges. This is our first month and it was very fun. I never do challenges, so it put me to the test I suppose. You can check out the challenge HERE. The challenge consisted of using our Echo Park Newsprint Paper,Crate Paper Border Strips, and the word "Record".

This is a layout of my friend Brittany and I. She is also a military wife. We didn't know each other very long before her and her husband got stationed in Korea. But with the power of Skype, you be amazed how your relationship can grow. We are hoping one day to be stationed together again. I was kinda bummed we were not able to get a picture of us together before she left. If your into travel blogs you can check out Brittany's Blog HERE. She has been recording all of her adventures in Korea. Anyways onto the layout. I used the April 2011 Paper Posies Kit and My Cute Stamps Konnichiwa Set.

Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Guess who's BACK !!!

I have been looking forward to writing this post all day. After a much needed getaway I think I'm more focused and back in action. After lots of research I finally got a camera. So excited. I wanted to write this post because there were so many blogs and photographer's that helped me out on where to get started. One day hopefully, someone will stubble across my blog and this will help them too ... I'm hoping to dedicate one or two posts to my love of photography each month. After all what is scrapping without amazing photos.

Where to start: MY BAG !!! I went threw many awesome bag websites. I was amazed at how many camera bags looked like purses. lol. I settled down with this one from Cheeky Lime. I love it. My husband thinks its very large, since I'm so short  ... but it works out great and there's plenty of room for expanding (more lens, flash, ect).

Camera: At the moment being new to DSLR camera's I decided to start with a Canon Rebel. I went with the Canon Rebel T3i. From what I was told a rebel is a great place to start at. The point and shoot camera I use is a Canon Powershot S5IS. I'm pretty addicted to the flip LCD screens.

LENS: All these different kind of lens options WHERE do you start ?? Well I heard from many people that the kit lens isn't the best, so I decided to upgrade my kit and get a tad better zoom lens. Right now I love it and it works great. I use the 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and a fixed 50mm f/1.8.

I noticed when looking for my camera and lens, I didn't know that much about it (still don't) but this site helped me make a good decision on where to start. I was also able to get a in-depth review on the products I was looking at. Dpreview: I love this site and I think it will be one of my faves for many years.

Photo-Processing: I currently use Adobe Photoshop CS4. Ive had it for 5 months and have been getting pretty good at some of the functions. Even though I was very good in elements this defiantly was an upgrade and has many more features to explore and learn. At the moment I'm addicted to actions. There are so many photo actions you can find, you will just have to explore. I will list some of my favorites later. The printer I use is a large format printer from HP. Its a HP Photosmart B8550. It is amazing, and you can still find it for sale on amazon.

Now onto photos. Here's a couple from the beach this past weekend. The camera did 90% of the blur and sharpness. I did do some post processing with a couple actions.

Hope you enjoyed the pics and some of my camera info. Be back soon with a layout !!!
