I have LANDED ...

I already said my big news on facebook so some of you know (also thank you for the congrats). But I wanted to share my special news on my blog. I'm beyond excited. First, I made my fourth design team this year. I'm now going to be designing for ....

Holly's stamps are so cute and I cant wait to work with some more of them. If you haven't already checked out her blog here's the link for MY CUTE STAMPS. My other big news that literally sent me to the clouds is MY FIRST PUBLICATION. I always wanted to see one of my creations in magazine with other amazing artist's. That was one of my goals at the beginning of this year is to keep submitting and never give up. I got the email months ago that CARDS magazine wanted to publish one of my card sets. Its even more amazing when you see it in the store. I saw the magazine in Joann's, flipped threw it, saw my card, and almost jumped out of my skin. You can imagine I am a extremely happy woman this week.

Hope everyone has a good week. I think I'm actually starting to get a cold (but I'm trying to ignore it). Hopefully that works. LOL. I have a long list of things to do, decorate is one of them. I also need to work on some Christmas Gift Projects. My Christmas cards are done and ready to be sent in the mail. Cant wait to show it to you all. I was maybe thinking of doing a temporary Blog makeover for Christmas .... hmmm we will see how I'm feeling later ....

Ohhh Monday ... I bet everyone woke up saying "NO, just one more day off". LOL. Well I did, but Ryan was defiantly ready to go back to school today. I hope everyone had a fun Thanksgiving. Its challenge time on the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog. We had to make any project using this sketch.

Here's my take on the sketch. Haven't decided where I'm putting this yet, either on the tree or doorknob. (First I need to get to putting the tree and decorations up; I'm actually behind this year on that.)

Supplies: My Minds eye (Colorful Christmas Kit), SU (Woodgrain Stamp, Felt Snowflake)

Happy Thanksgiving ....

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and safe Friday Shopping. See you back here next week.

So Very Thankful ...

So like me today you’re probably cleaning, cooking a little, and preparing for the big Dinner tomorrow. Also right about now your blogging because you needed a break. LOL. This time a year you always take a step back and expressive how thankful you are. I am continually thankful for my family and friends; those are the people that make life that more perfect.
I also cannot express to you all how thankful I am for all the support you followers and friends have given me threw my creative journey. It makes my hobby even that much more fun. Some of you I have become great friends with, which is even more of a reason I am …..

I wanted to do a quick giveaway with a just a couple little somethings that I made from my ETSY Shoppe. Just a little thank you for your wonderful comments. I tell you guys all the time, but they truly make my day.  I actually already did the giveaway (SO NO WAITING) WOOHOO!!! I had my son pick 4 names out of bowl of 96 followers. I think it took longer to write the names down than it did for Ryan to pick them. LOL.  The four ladies picked are:
Ladies, send your address to scrapbookpatty@yahoo.com and  I will mail you out your little something next week. I wish I could give something to everyone. I hope everyone has a great day today.

PB on a Dime Part 1

Let's face it Pottery Barn is awesome, but who can really afford it? I may have a couple things from there, but I really couldn't decorate a whole room. Especially on our budget. LOL. Wanted to share some things I have been working on for my bedroom and bathroom. I call this post my DYI part 1. The next part I post will be the completed rooms. I LOVE pottery barn lanterns, especially when they fill them with things besides a candle. Here's some lanterns I got at IKEA. The large one is for my dresser and the two small ones will hang above our Garden Tub in the Bathroom.

  • Lanterns & Candles: IKEA
  • Twings, Leaves, Moss, Nest, Eggs, & Bird: Micheal's & Hobby Lobby
  • Postcards (back of the big lantern): Graphics Fairy Blog
  • Rolled up paper: Thrift Store Books
  • Keys: Hobby Lobby

I wanted a relaxing nature theme for our bedroom. Something that had some masculine and famine aspects to it. I always love to browse the PB catalog just to get some ideas. Here's a couple things that I threw together that looked similar to what I loved with HALF the price tag.

  • Jar & Keys: Hobby Lobby
  • Old Wooden Tray: Marshals $11
  • Galvanized Metal Canister: Pottery Barn
  • Hydrangea's: Micheal's

One last thing I was loving for our room was these from the PB catalog. How neat to use a candle holder to display photos as well.
Here's a start for that project. I need some more berries to match the lanterns and I'm also thinking about making the photos smaller. WORK IN PROGRESS. But simple project. Hope you got inspired with some of your own decor. Have a great weekend everyone.

DC Bound ...

I had an amazing weekend and now I’m pooped. The family and I packed up for a last minute trip to Washington DC Friday for a marriage retreat provided by the army. I kept thinking “Oh well, free DC trip, I will take some classes”. I came out of the trip learning a lot about how I could improve my marriage, which was awesome. <Not that we were in extreme need for some help. LOL. It’s just always nice to learn how to do things better. Besides the marriage classes, we had an amazing time exploring DC. That is seriously an amazing city and the fall weather was great.

We had Friday morning and Saturday afternoon to explore, so we tried to fit as much in as possible to see.
1.       We fit in most of the Memorials/Monuments on the National Mall
2.       Stopped in Arlington National cemetery which was breathtaking
3.       Took a peak into the National Gallery of Art so I could see my favorite Monet painting. It was so worth the walk. The Gallery was amazing; wish I could have saw more of it but Ryan was not having that.
4.       Took Ryan to the Air & Space Museum
5.       Last, we walked around DC and explored, also peeked at the white house.
We had a wonderful time. Right before we left DC because we just couldn’t walk anymore and we also wanted to meet some friends for dinner, we stopped to see the last monument which was the Lincoln Memorial. Let’s just say every time I see the Lincoln picture I’m going to think of MUD. LOL. I wanted to take a picture of Ryan and Matt and I stepped back without looking, I then FELL IN A PILE OF MUD. My white slip on shoe got stuck in a pile of mud and my jeans and everything were FULL of it. As tourists laughed.... I proceeded to put on Matt’s socks, throw my hopeless shoes away, and we trucked to the nearest CAB to take us to the nearest shoe store. Which was a really nice MACY’S with NO paper towel. LOL. Needless to say we laugh about it and my husband is amazed on how much of a klutz his wife still is after 11 years of knowing each together. LOL.

Oh one more thing … Kathy Martin aka (My Digital Doodle Boss) but actually a friend, is a guest blogger on the SEI blog this week. You can check out the SEI Blog HERE. It takes a lot to achieve things like this since you are in competition with many great crafters. Take a peek and show her some commenting love. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

A FALL post ...

Fall weather is rolling in …. I decorated a tad bit for Thanksgiving, but not as much as I normally do for Halloween. It’s been really cold and rainy this week, so we have not been able to enjoy some fall weather just yet … but it is sup post to be a sunny weekend.

As you all know very well I’m obsessed with Me and My big Ideas. Here is a page I did with their new Copper Willow Collection. I LOVE these clear stamps.
