Shocking …

Yes … you’re not dreaming … I finally made a layout. LOL. I know, it’s been awhile, right??? It took a couple days to finish it, but I am very happy with the results. I used some of the products I got at Archiver’s for Mother’s Day. Which was not much, since I only spent $14 Bucks. Yes, I am still shocked about that.

Supplies: Fancy Pants Designs (Road Show Grocery List, Dainty Print, & Delicate Dots Papers; Element Stickers)
Making Memories (Buttons & Brads) CuttleBug (Swiss Dots Embossing Folder & Butterfly Die)
Misc. (Sticky cork, Dragonfly Brad, & Ribbon) Stampin Up (Twine).

Exploring Felt ….

Lately, I have been exploring felt flowers. Here is my first try … I thought I did pretty well for a first timer. I have noticed that most of the tutorials I found, they used a lot nicer felt, not the 50 cent stuff at the craft store. But I did not want to order the expensive stuff until I tried it out. However, I am thinking I really like the felt flowers; might be a little bit to puffy for a scrap page, but would look great in shadow boxes or even a hair clip. LOL.

I found some great tutorials, so thought I would share the wealth, maybe you might like this technique too. LollyChops Blog had a great video tutorial on felt and paper flowers HERE.

You also have to check out Emily Sparks Blog. I came across her on Etsy when I was looking for a flower headpiece for my hair (for the military ball coming up). I fell in love with her crocheted hair items. She did a cute felt rose DIY HERE.

Since I'm on a flower kick ... Danielle Flanders happen to post her own little DIY on "faux" crocheted flowers. She's like me, loves them, but cant crochet (though my mom does and still can't get her to make me some) LOL. How cute are these .... you can find how to make those HERE.

If you find anymore tutorials feel free to email me. I would really like to know how to make those ribbon flowers. Happy Creating.

Attempting to Relax Sunday …

This morning my son woke up with the flu. He has finally broke his fever and the throwing up has stopped. At this moment, he is napping. I decided to take that opportunity, clean up my scrap room, and do some blogging. So last Friday, I hit the Jackpot at Tuesday Morning. I must be the only one in this town that finds great scrapbook stuff there. My friends always go after I tell them what I found and never find anything. I know it is a very random place to find scrapbook stuff, but I always come out with some awesome items. Here is the stash I found this month, everything besides the Making Memories Binder was under $2.99. The Binder was $7.99. Can you believe the American Crafts Flair was only 69 cents? WHOA!!!

After cleaning and putting away some purchased items … I dug these jars out. I have had them for a while and wanted to put my buttons in them. I love the jar look in other scrapbook rooms, but do not find them very easy to use while scrapping. Ribbon and Buttons are not something I use very often so thought it would give a nice color pop in my room. < I know … not the most exciting thing to talk about, but hey I think they are cute. LOL.

Hope everyone has a good rest of there weekend. Still attempting to make something ... LOL !!! Where did my mojo go ... come back ..... LOL !!!

I Heart Etsy !!!

You know … I really love Etsy. There are such great crafters on there, selling the cutest things. In about a week, all of my listings will be expired. I am thinking about re-listing everything and giving some things lower prices. I do not make much selling stuff, but it is still a great feeling every time someone purchases an item I made.

Here is one of the items I plan to re-list. Thought I would share since spring is in the air.

Shame ... Shame ...

I am so behind on my blogging …. Good news though, today was my last day of my first college class!!! I do not have my final grade yet, but with all my points it is looking at a 98%. Woohoo. I cannot complain with that. This will probably be my first and only class that will be easy in college so I am soaking it in now. LOL.
I did have a very nice mother’s day … cards from everyone including the cat (thank you husband). We went off to Raleigh and checked out Archiver’s. Can you believe this; I only spent $14 bucks!!!! I must be sick. I normally walk out of their spending over $50. I got a couple sheets of paper and some stickers. INSANE. I guess in the back of my mind I kept thinking, I already have too much stuff at home. Ha Ha.

Here is a couple pics from my Mother’s day weekend … I hope to be getting back to scrapping soon.

Some Randomness …

Who is ready for their relaxing mother’s day? I am so glad its Friday. I got the biggest week of homework out of the way. This assignment this week was not that fun, so I am happy it is finally over and I made it. Three more class days and I am done with my first class. Woohoo.

Got my haircut today … it’s an inch shorter than I wanted (not showing a picture) LOL. All I can say is thank goodness hair grows.

We have plans to go to Raleigh this weekend … I really need to find some heals for the military ball coming up. I did find a dress so I am glad the hardest part is over. Here is a peek at my dress …

Also in Raleigh, I plan to head over to Archivers. The best scrapbook store ever!!! I have been good so it’s my time to spurge a little. Okay I won’t leave you hanging I did make a page this week. Yes it’s Easter … but better late than never. One more page down ….

Supplies: American Crafts (Backyard snap & buzz Papers, Everyday Snap Paper, & Flair GROW) Misc. (white Cardstock).

Happy National Scrapbooking Day !!!

It is a warm Spring Day and having fun spending time with my family, so this will be a short post. Hope everyone is scrapping their hearts out today. I am hoping to do some scrapping later when my hubby goes and works on his truck. He still is working half days so between homework and family time, scrapping has been pushed aside for a bit.

Here are some cards I managed to whip out last week. You all will be so proud; I am still using my supplies up. Woohoo!!!

Supplies: Heidi Grace (bye bye birdie paper & stamps) Stampin Up (Kraft cardstock) Misc (DMC floss hearts)

On a Family note, thank you all for the great comments of welcoming my husband home from deployment. You all are awesome. It has been a fun last couple of weeks. The fun keeps continuing …We are now new owners of our very first vehicle!!! My car was given to me from my grandma, so this was the first time we bought a vehicle at THE DEALER. Of course, I still asked my parents for some advice LOL … but we were very excited. I even hustled the dealer for a good price (my very first hustle) Ha Ha. My husband could not be happier. I think he is outside every 15 minutes to go check on it (with all the work he has done for us, I think he completely deserves it). Here are a couple pics …

Okay I said this was going to be a short post … oh well … looks like I need to blog more. Ha Ha. Hope everyone has a good rest of their weekend.
