Back to Where it all Started ....

Since I do not have anything new to share yet .... thought I would do a “Flashback” and show some pages of when I first started Scrapbooking (its okay I have already laughed a couple times). I started scrapping my junior year of high school in 2001.

BOY, have I improved. Ha Ha.

Glad to see I have not changed much since Senior year. LOL.

M.I.A once again ....

Sorry I have been missing in action this week. With the excitement of my hubby being home there has been no blogging or scrapbook time last week. He's back to work this week... so hopefully I can make something in between homework time.

Here's some pics for you all to enjoy .... See ya later this week.

Overwhelmed with happiness...

My husband is finally home ….

Sunday Night right when I put my son to bed I got a phone call from my husband. He said “Hey honey, when you get a chance can you come pick me up”. I was like “WHAT?” .... How is this possible ... Earlier that day, I talked to my husband’s company and they said that he was not on any of the flights coming in and he was probably going to be the last one coming home.

As my mind raced, I hung up and ran around thinking … OMG!!! I need to go pick him up. LOL. I ran into my son’s room and yelled “Ryan get your shoes on”. He ran out of his room and had his shoes on in a pull-up …. I was like opps!!! I need to get him dressed ….

When I got to post (thanks to some phone direction guidance form my friends) since I never go on post much. It was about 9:30 at night. I come into this empty parking lot and I’m think where is everyone (preparing for an extravagant Army Homecoming). There was my husband standing under a light post waiting for me ….

(Ryan just waking up as we parked and Daddy opening the door to see him)

My dear Husband flew home on a Cargo Plane from Spain with two other soldiers. He was not going to be home until the end of this month and managed to get lucky ...

So glad he's FINALLY HOME !!!!

I know I'm behind ....

I’m back … I know I haven’t been around in awhile this week. I have to say this has been one long week. Between doing homework I have been waiting for my husband to get back from his deployment. He was actually sup post to get back last week, but with the civil uprising in Kazakhstan he was unable to fly out of that airport and now with this volcano problem … I’m assuming that’s why I have not heard anything yet. I have been threw 3 deployments (I count Korea as deployment, he was still gone a year) and I do not remember the waiting being this bad. When I get a coming home date, I try to not get too excited because it can always change; but I was excited this time. I’m ready for him to be home. I guess I’m glad I haven’t been telling my 4 year old Daddy is coming home soon. I would hate for him to be in waiting too.

So I have been trying to keep myself occupied with homework, blog, surfing, and other things. There’s nothing to clean in my house anymore, that I mowed the lawn yesterday LOL. So here’s a page I worked on last night …. This was from my husband’s home coming from Iraq in 2007. Can you tell I’m ready for a Homecoming?

Supplies: Me and My big Ideas (activity pad paper & postage stamps stickers) Heidi Swapp (ghost clocks)
Becky Higgins (project life number paper) Doodle Bug (stitches rub-ons) Staz on Ink (distressed gird paper)

I actually made this card first and thought those Me and My Big Ideas Postage Stamp Stickers would be great for a page ...

On an exciting note …

One of my blogging buddies Jessica told me my name was featured in the new issue of Creating keepsakes May/June Issue. I would of never known if she didnt tell me. LOL. Thought that was kind of neat. Even though it’s not one of my projects shown, Creating keepsakes is a busy magazine and gets 1000’s of submissions a day. So that was very exciting to see. I was on the phone with my best scrapping buddy asking her to find it. LOL.

Hope everyone has a good weekend !!!

A Relaxing Sunday ....

Made a couple cards this weekend. May is a big birthday month for us, so needed to get a head start on cards. It was actually kind of strange for me to make just one card and not a set. I’m so use to making sets for my etsy shop. Very weird. LOL.

Supplies: American Crafts (Rub-Ons Celebrate, Play papers) Stampin Up (kraft cardstock)

Although I have a lot of stamps, I don’t stamp much .... so this was fun ...

Supplies: Me and My Big Ideas (Activity Pad Papers) Doodle Bug (Stich Rub-Ons)
Sandylion ( Boy Stamps) SU (kraft cardstock)

Before I go …. (Disclaimer: This is in no way meant to offend anyone who visits my blog.)

Most of my family and friends know what a big animal lover I am. As of right now the commercial seal hunting season started in Canada. This hunt is the largest slaughter of marine mammals on Earth and more than one million baby seals have been killed for their fur during the past four years. Conditions have worsen this year with rapid rate of ice melting babies are not surviving and Canada is still allowing the hunt to continue. This year alone they want to bring their quota to 50,000 baby seals.I feel being so passionate about this cause that I should pass this information along. The more people who know and get involved may help the seal hunt end sooner. You can check out more information at the Human Society, IFAW, or  PETA websites.

Welcome Friday!!!

Supplies: SEI (doodley-doo boy collection)

One last note: Elle’s Studio is doing a great Blog Challenge and teaming up with Operation Write Home. For the challenge create a bunch of cards for our troops to send home to their families. For each card you will be entered in a drawing for a $30 gift certificate for Elle’s Studio Store. You can check out more about this challenge HERE. I decided to donate a set of cards from my Etsy shop. Here’s the card set I’m mailing in:

I think this is a great organization. My husband has been threw 2 deployments and he always says there are never really any cards or supplies like that to send home from the shop there on post. I have gotten a piece of notebook paper made into card he made though. LOL. Thank you all who continue to support our troops. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Welcome to College …

I apologize for being an absentee blogger as of late. As of Monday I am now officially “College Student”. So Monday was my first day … I read so much and couldn’t believe I actually did this (you know signed up … now I’m in class) that I kind of freaked. But after a good cry and pep talk from my mom, I know that this is great (ok, always new this is great, but got a little nervous). I have waited for so long to figure out what I wanted to do; I know in my heart this is going to be a great life change for me. I think I went in this week thinking I needed to be writing papers like I have been going to college for years, but realize that’s going to take time.

Anyways, wanted to let my great followers and friends know even though I’m in school now, I’m not going to abandon my blog. My goal is to at least do one or two posts a week, even if I’m busy. I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. My son is on Spring Break right now … in between school work …. I have been trying to keep my hyper 4 year old busy.

But I’m thinking today I just might be able to squeeze in some scrapping time while my son does his computer time. Hmmmm (that is a great idea)…. See you all in couple days ….

Happy Easter !!!

Hope everyone is having a good Easter today. I did a little spring cleaning … with my husband coming home from deployment in about a week (WOO-HOO!!!) and me starting college tomorrow another (WOO-HOO!!!) things need to be dusted. I did though mange to take some pics of my updated office after being cleaned.

Here’s another peek into my Parisian Escape …

You’re probably thinking what did you update? LOL. Well I had a computer on my craft desk. Since I gave it to my son I now have more room. Hoorah!!! More room is good. Also got this super wonderful wall decal Eiffel Tower at Hobby Lobby for my cabinet.

Okay and the last thing, I got this great metal shelf thing at Sam’s Club for all my paper scraps. It works great so far. Also if I decide to not use it for paper scraps, it will be great in the garage. But so far I like it, I go straight for my scraps instead of grabbing a new peice of cardstock.

Hope everyone has a good week. (I noticed last week I forgot to post Project Life ... opps ... dont worry I will not forget this Thursday).
