Digital Scrapbooking ...

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Just another day of catching up on laundry, I know fun stuff.

So you know I’m doing “Digital Scrapbook Tuesday”. I haven’t really talked about digital too much on here yet, so thought I would share a couple things. I got into digital scrapbooking in 2007. It started with a freebie kit and then progressed from there. I’ve used some tutorials on some new tricks but pretty much self taught myself Adobe Photoshop.

Scrapbooking is one of the many reasons I decided to go to school for Graphic Design. I want to be able to make a career out of being creative and making my own line scrapbook stuff would not be bad ether. LOL. Like I have said many times I do my scrapbooks by years. I decided with the catching up I need to do since 2006 … I didn’t want to get behind with 2010 as well. So my 2010 pics I’m going to go the digital route and I think I will have the pages bound in a book threw shutterfly or something.

Here are a couple pages I have started already:

Supplies: Peppermint Creative (After Midnight Kit)

Supplies: Peppermint Creative (rebel one kit, mintage frames, playground park) Zoe Pearn (glitter)

I love Digital Scrapping for 2 reasons. One: If you feel in the creative mood to do a page but don’t have time or don’t feel like getting all those supplies out, there already in your computer. Then two: I love to go the hybrid route. Sometimes you just don’t have that perfect rub-on or paper accent you’re looking for. It’s great to customize something yourself with your digital supplies.

Here are some of my favorite places to get digital supplies. Hopefully you can find something and get inspired.

Have a Good Weekend and see you on Scraplift Monday !!!

Random Post Today and a Giveaway!!!

KI Memories had a little challenge on their blog to make a friendship page. Made this quick 8x8 layout with this extremely old “Pieces of Me” kit, but I think whether old or new Ki memories always is awesome!!!

I used a picture of my friend Rhonda and Me. I met her during my first deployment and we have been friends ever since. Rhonda is one of those rare friends you find that is always there for you and no matter what you say she never think ‘s your crazy (she knows its stress) !!!LOL!!!

Supplies: KI Memories (Pieces of Me Kit)

I also made this 11 x 8 ½ page of another one of my best friends. Yes, my cat Charlie. I love my Kitty. In 2003 I found this little guy in my Mother in-laws garage. He was wild and only 4 weeks old. He has been my furry baby ever since.

Supplies: Adornit (Perfect Kitty cardstock Stickers) Around the Block (Spotted Paper) KI Memories (Brown Paper)

Now for the Giveaway … I have a boy cat and I don’t know why I have hot pink stickers. Ha Ha Ha. So leave a comment and I will pick someone Friday !!!

One more thing … I saw this Planet Earth Video from Secret today on Becky Higgins facebook and thought it was a perfect video to start the day off. Take a peek HERE. See ya tomorrow for Project Life: Show your page Thursday!!!

Digital Layout: Tuesday!!!

I think of my Blog as my Scrap Goal Diary. Ever since I started my blog, it has helped me stay focused on my scrapping goals. Now a couple months later I have completed a bunch of projects, and I also have a bunch of followers and email subscribers. I have to say Thank you to you all, because this has been one long deployment and your comments and messages are all awesome. I look forward to them every day.

As you know I’m trying to stay good this year and use up all the supplies I have (since I have enough for a store… LOL). Well last night I was looking threw my digital scrapbook kits on my computer and said “Oh Boy”. Most of them I have NEVER used and I still to this day buy more.

Ok another goal: START USING my DIGITAL KITS. I’m making Tuesday ... Digital Layout: Tuesday!!! I will show the kit and layout I made. Keep in mind some of the kits I will be using you can’t purchase anymore. But I will try to stay updated.

Here's the 2 kits I used today. I got them at Sweet Shoppe Designs.

Scrap Lift Monday !!!

So I decided to start Scrap Lift Mondays. I have so many layouts saved in my craft folder and book of scraps from other great scrappers and never use them. Even though I can come up with some great layouts on my own, I sometimes like to copy others if I LOVE there page. I always change it around a little bit though to go with my style or certain photograph.

My first layout for Scrap Lift Monday is this one from Laura Vegas. Laura is well known for her awesome layouts and being a designer for Making Memories. You can check out her Blog HERE.

Layout By: Laura Vegas

I loved how she used the epoxy embellishments and really wanted to try it. Here's my take on her layout.

More Layouts ...

My goal of using my stash is working out well so far. But the temptation of buying new stuff is killing me. So I probably have every collection from Ki Memories collecting dust in my cabinet and since I’m extremely ready for SUMMER, decided to dig some bright colors out. My Multi – Sized Album is turning out perfect. It’s so nice scrapping different sizes.

Multi-Sized Layout Albums

Hope everyone’s week is going great so far. Time for another crafty post. My new obsession besides cute paper airplane stuff is Multi-Sized Layout Albums. I’m noticing more and more my albums are heading in that direction. So, for my 2009 book I decided to go in full swing with that idea. I had this idea in my scrapbook folder for years with a multi layout example. (I apologize I don’t know who’s layouts they are, I saved this a long time ago).

Well with this example you get the idea. It’s so easy to do now with all the Binder albums and sheet protector options. I LOVE We R Memory Keeper sheets. These are all great for a Multi-Sized Layout Albums.
I plan on using some of these 12x12 sheets, with 8x8 and 8 1/2 x 11 sheets. I’ve started on it and so far I like how it’s looking.

8x8 Layout

Hopefully this will give you some Album Ideas!!! Happy Creating!!!

Happy Valentine’s Night!!!

Didn’t really do much on Valentines today besides a bunch of laundry!!! I know exciting, LOL!!! My hubby did send me a sweet text message from miles away though. So during the loads of laundry I was able to use these cute brushes I got recently for a layout. The brush set is from Erica Hernandez called “My funny Valentine”. You can find them HERE at Two Peas in a Bucket.

At first, when I saw them on Two Peas in a Bucket, they weren’t my favorite. But when I saw them used on some cute projects I was look “ohhh have to get them”. How cute are these valentines.

From Cayla73 (Two Peas User)

Also thought these candy bags made by mom2christopher where adorable too. You can see here blog Card-Blanc  HERE.

So I think my new obsession for the week is going to be paper airplanes. I’m noticing them everywhere and decided to dig out some paper and scrap about my son and his love for airplanes. Just a quick layout, using some American Crafts Stuff and that cute Paper Airplane Brush.

Supplies: American Crafts (Teen Paper, Summer & Spring Paper, & Thickers Fabric Letters Aqua)
Making Memories (Metal Circle Rim Tags & Brads) Martha Stewart (Paper Borders Brights Border pad)
Stampin UP (Kraft Cardstock) Black Swiss Dot Cardstock
